Description

A bold and smoky Cajun BBQ sauce recipe that blends Creole mustard, molasses, and spices into the perfect balance of heat, sweet, and tang. Great on chicken, veggies, and more.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups ketchup

1 tbsp Zatarain’s Creole mustard

2 tsp cane vinegar or apple cider vinegar

2 tsp molasses

¼ tsp liquid smoke

½ cup brown sugar

2 tsp dried parsley flakes

¼ tsp paprika

¼ tsp celery seed

Instructions

1. Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan.

2. Cook on medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring often.

3. Simmer until color deepens and flavors are well blended.

4. Remove from heat and let cool before storing.

Notes

Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Add cayenne pepper for more heat, or maple syrup instead of molasses for a twist.
